In early April, Apple was fully involved in providing quality information about COVID-19. Introducing specific platforms in partnership with relevant health bodies in the United States. Thereafter a platform was opened to test whether a person's symptoms were associated with the disease. Finally, Apple is working with Google to provide an API to integrate and track applications from different countries around the world. Apart from these facts, today we know that Apple has included locations where the COVID-19 tests were performed on Apple Maps in the United States and Puerto Rico, right now.
Apple Maps as COVID-19 data source
The Apple Maps app has been updated indirectly since the epidemic began. In mid-March, when many countries around the world are launching their alarm zones, Apple is prioritizing its mapping app location category hospitals, pharmacies, supermarkets and restaurants for home delivery. This way, the user should not have to leave the app too fast and be able to access that information very quickly.
Today we know that the most important thing comes from the app as we begin the search Centers, clinics, hospitals or COVID-19 tests. Ironically, this information is only displayed in Puerto Rico and in 50 states of the United States. To access this information we just have to go to the search bar and click "Proof of COVID-19“This option, as I said, will only come from the Puerto Rican and American area.
To be able to appear on the list of locations, Apple has enabled a platform to allow accredited hospitals and institutions. Once we have received this information, we may find that the institution or hospital goes without contract, address and telephone number. In addition, for each search we will receive a notification with the following text:
To be tested for COVID-19, you may need to be referred to a doctor and an appointment at the testing center.
