Albums shared via iCloud are a great way to let other people view your photos or create a media pool among people who have been invited to participate in your expansion.
But you may want to remove what Apple calls “subscribers” from the shared album. Maybe you no longer want to share your media with that person, or maybe that person is already satisfied after seeing photos of your 1,000 cats.
For MacOS photos, follow these steps to remove subscriber from the album:
- Open the items for shared albums in the sidebar of photos, if they are not enlarged, then select a shared album.
- Click the person button in the upper right corner of the window.
- In the list of people from the top, click the down arrow next to the person’s name and click Delete Subscriber .
(When I checked this out, I noticed that my shared albums didn’t have a list of people!
For iOS or iPadOS photos, do the following:
- Tap the albums button below the photos, swipe to show shared albums, tap See All if necessary, and then tap the album you want to edit.
- Under View, tap the People button.
- Tap the person you want to remove from the list of people at the top, then tap Delete Subscriber.
Of course, the user can remove them from the list himself.
- For MacOS images, after tapping the person button, tap Unsubscribe. (They may also select Notifications to discontinue notification of changes.)
- For iOS or iPadOS photos, after tapping the People button, tap Unsubscribe (or disable Notifications).
