Apple released a new update today, this time only for iPhones, to iOS version 16.1.2. A week after iOS 16.1.1, it arrives to fix bugs like crash detection.
Three weeks ago, Apple released iOs 16.1, a version that brought compatibility with Matter, iCloud Shared Library, and Live Activities for the iPhone 14 Pro’s Live Island and Lock Screen. Last week Apple released iOS 16.1.1, fixing bugs, and now comes iOS 16.1.2. It’s not usual for Apple to release so many versions in such a short time.
This new update improves carrier compatibility, and also improves crash detection in the new iPhone 14. These are the official notes
This update includes important security updates and the following improvements for iPhone:
• Improved compatibility with mobile operators.
• Optimized crash detection function on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
One of the novelties that was the protagonist of the presentation event of the new iPhone 14 was the detection of accidents. iPhone can detect sudden decelerations and sounds that might suggest you’ve been in a traffic accident, and if you don’t respond, it will call emergency services with your location. This function, which can really save your life can be activated in other situations, such as on a roller coaster
This update comes when we are waiting for iOS 16.2, of which we have already had several Betas and which should arrive before the end of the year.
