The fourth beta of iOS 18.1 is now available and here is the news
After the official launch of iOS 18, and 3 weeks after the previous update, Apple has released iOS 18.1 beta 4the update that includes Apple Intelligence on the iPhone. This update should be officially launched in a few weeks, probably during the month of October, and will be accompanied by important new features.
Along with this update, Apple also released the Fourth beta of iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15
What’s new in iOS 18.1
This is a very important update for Apple, an update that will include Apple Intelligence which has been delayed more than expected. Remember that Apple’s artificial intelligence is only available in English and in the United States, although anyone can try Apple Intelligence on their iPhone by changing these settings.
Focusing on iOS 18.1 beta 4, it seems that Apple has introduced some interesting improvements over previous versions, in addition to improving the performance and stability of the update. First, improvements have been made to the Phone call recording and transcription, now available on older iPhone models
On the other hand, iOS 18.1 Enables Space Photos on iPhone 15 Prosomething that was only present on the iPhone 16. We now have a new section when we open the camera called Space, from which we can take both photos and videos.
How to Install iOS 18.1 on Your iPhone
If you are planning to install this beta software update on your iPhone, you should know that it is not easy, mainly because It is only available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max usersalthough the iPhone 16 could also be compatible. Indeed, this is a beta update aimed exclusively at testing Apple Intelligence services, which we only have on these models.
Also, it is worth adding that this beta update is designed for developers, we do not have a public version of iOS 18.1 at the moment. If you have a compatible device and you want to install iOS 18.1 on your iPhone
- Sync your Apple ID with the Apple Beta Developer Program.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Go to the General section.
- And now enter the Software Update section.
- Wait a few seconds and click on Beta Updates.
- Select iOS 18.1 Developer Beta.
- Go back and you can now download and install the iOS 18.1 beta.
So far, iOS 18.1 has fallen behind in terms of new features compared to the iOS 18 betasince this is an update focused on Apple Intelligence. But, as of now, this will be the next big update, so it will probably hit more devices and introduce more new features.
