How to update AirPods

To update your AirPods to the latest version, make sure they are inside the charging case and connect the case to a charger. THE AirPods must be connected to an iOS device which, in turn, is connected to the Internet.

Although there is no exact time for the update, If you leave your AirPods near your iPhone or iPad for a while, they will automatically update. Having both the iOS device and AirPods with 100% battery life makes the updating process easier. It’s not as simple as updating the iPhone, but you can try to force it. However, if you wait a few days, your AirPods will surely update.

Firmware updates are delivered periodically while your AirPods are charging and within Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
