Apple TV + released the documentary premiere 9/11 ‘Inside the President’s War Room’, focused on the terrorist attacks in the United States in 2001. Regarding the twentieth anniversary of these events, the platform announced that the first will take place on September 11 of this year.
The special will be narrated by Jeff Daniels and will include testimonials from former President George Bush, Dick Cheney and more. In a notable move for the streaming service, the special will air simultaneously on Apple TV + and the state-funded streaming channel BBC One. Even in the UK, the show will air first on BBC One and then Apple TV +. In all other regions, it will debut exclusively on Apple TV +.
Apple commemorates the September 11 attacks
The program will tell the immediate consequences of the attack, counting make emergency decisions in the first 12 hours after planes hit the World Trade Center. The special documentary will feature previously unseen testimonials from President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Andy Card and other key figures. It will also feature nearly 200 never-before-seen photos, as photographers followed Bush and Cheney’s every move that day, as well as the filmed archives.
The production of “9/11: Inside the President’s War Room” comes from an award-winning team that includes award-winning Royal Television Society director Adam Wishart, creative producer Simon Finch and BAFTA-award-winning executive producer Neil Grant. The production manager is Serena Kennedy.
The documentary will debut alongside Apple’s growing supply of documentaries and docuseries, including “State of the boys”, “What you don’t see from me”, “1971: the year music changed everything”.
