It must be admitted that Apple has been able to prepare for a well-balanced batch of firsts. Right now we are still finishing digesting the new May releases which are “The Essex Serpent” and “Now & Then”, but we will only have this week off before returning to a a first weekly throughout the month of June.
’80s aerobics and alternative space racing return
On June 3, we’ll have the premiere of the second season of ‘Physical,’ starring Rose Byrne and her pulse as an eighties aerobics teacher. A week later and coinciding with WWDC 2022, we will have the long-awaited third season of “For All Mankind”, the space alternate history that will take us to Mars.
Don’t you have enough? ‘dance for life‘ opens June 17, and comedy ‘Booty‘ starring Maya Rudolph arrives June 24. It won’t be a dull month, and July doesn’t seem to be relaxing either with the premiere of ‘locked up with the devil‘ and the second season of ‘rounds‘.
And for the next few months, there is some interesting news:
- According to Deadline, there will be a new series called “Fingernails”, starring Jessie Buckley and Riz Ahmed. They’ll play a couple who will undergo a test that will seemingly tell them if they really are still in love or if the magic has already worn off.
- Another series confirmed by Apple itself is “Las Azules”, which will deal with the first female police in Mexico. Its first season will consist of ten episodes.
- The latest news is special for the nostalgic: Apple has secured the production rights to a live-action series of “Speed Racer”, the drawings of legendary racing cars that were later turned into a film by the Wachowski sisters.
