TorrentFreak shared with us the list of the most pirated series of 2021, and Apple TV + ‘Foundation’ is one of them.
Although not having as great a popularity as that of its competitors, Apple TV + has managed to have a rather remarkable catalog of series and films. Apple TV + productions have won nine Annual Critics Choice Awards nominations, and three of their series have also been nominated for Golden Globes. Now a new report shows us the list of the most pirated series of the year, and Apple TV + has also managed to squeeze between the big names franchise and the most popular services.
As commented by 9to5Mac, ‘Foundation’ managed to sneak its way into the ten most hacked series of the year 2021
The 10 most hacked series of 2021
- Wandavision (Disney +)
- Loki (Disney +)
- The Witcher (Netflix)
- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Disney +)
- Hawkeye (Disney +)
- What if…? (Disney +)
- Foundation (Apple TV +)
- Rick and Morty (Cartoon Network / Netflix / HBO Max)
- Arcane (Netflix)
- The Wheel of Time (Amazon Prime Video)
The list was taken from a report by TorrentFreak, which was kind enough to leave us with the most hacked series of 2021. Apple TV + ‘Foundation’ has found its place in seventh position on the list, a rather surprising position if we compare it to the popularity of series which are in positions above and below the production of Apple TV +.
Disney + won most of the year’s pirates, and is that the service has five entries in the list of the ten most pirated series. Netflix is following suit with two other entries, while Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV +, and HBO Max each take a spot on the list.
The growth of streaming services has spread piracy of series
However, there are some series which, although they are popularly downloaded in pirated ways, are not on the list, as is the case with La Casa de Papel or The Squid Game. Indeed, the list is based on the number of episodes downloaded and not on the total number accumulated in the series. In the case of these two previous ones, Netflix generally launches all the episodes of its series at the same time, which put you at a disadvantage compared to other competitors
On the other hand, the portal tells us that the number of pirated shows has increased as the streaming services market has fragmented. Whereas previously everything was under one umbrella, the growing number of different services made many users unable or unwilling to go through the checkout and hire another service.
With today’s streaming landscape so fragmented, it seems that many people would rather hack rather than pay for “another” subscription. This certainly applies to Marvel fans.
Apple TV + has a catalog that is growing with each passing day. Of course, we’ve left you with a compilation of all the premieres that will be coming to the service over the next few months, so stay tuned to everything Apple TV + has to offer.
