Apple has released a new software update for AirPods 4!
Apple continues to improve its new AirPods 4. A new firmware update, version 7B19, was released todaywhich replaces 7A304 from September. This frequency of updates demonstrates Apple’s commitment to providing the best experience to its users of both versions of these headset models.
What’s new in 7B19 updates for AirPods 4
According to Apple’s support site, When updating the firmware for AirPods 4, you can access both the standard version and the version with noise cancellation (ANC). This is the second time the AirPods 4 have received an update since their launch a few months ago.
The 7B19 release notes for AirPods include:
- iPhone or iPad with iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 or later, AirPods Pro 2 With the 7B19 firmware update, they offer three new features: hearing test, hearing aid and hearing protection.
- The Apple Hearing Test feature provides scientifically validated hearing test results from the comfort of home (intended for users 18 and older).
- Hearing aid feature provides personalized, clinical-grade assistance that is automatically applied to environmental sounds, as well as music, videos, and calls (intended for users 18 years or older with mild hearing loss to moderate).
- The hearing protection feature helps users minimize exposure to loud ambient noise in all listening modes (available in Canada and the United States).
These features require AirPods Pro 2 with firmware version 7B19 or later. Some features may not be available in all countries or regions.
How to update AirPods?
If you update to this new firmware version on your AirPods, you must follow the steps that we show you below, although patience must be present.
Apple assures that the update is done automatically When your iPhone, iPad, or Mac is near the AirPods, they are designed to update without you noticing. Although it is true that you can try to “force” the AirPods to update.
The first thing we recommend is connect the AirPods to the iPhone via Bluetooth, enter Settings and the “AirPods” menu that appears in the upper area, and see below which firmware version they have.
