The iPhone scene seems a bit hectic lately. Moved in the direction patterns appear and disappear and, in general, the catalog is being restructured to better adapt to market preferences. It’s something we saw with the demise of the mini model, which isn’t present alongside the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, for example.
This is something we also saw with the appearance of the iPhone 14 Plus, an iPhone with entry specs, but with a bigger screen size. And now, according to Kuo, we would see it in the disappearance of the iPhone SE 4. An iPhone that we could expect by 2024, and which now it could disappear from Apple’s plans
Market trend points to bigger and better new iPhones
This is what the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo asserts in a series of tweets. An unexpected surprise, no doubt, but for which he gives several reasons. According to the analyst, the cancellation of the fourth generation iPhone SE is due to the few sales of the entry iPhone like iPhone SE 3, iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 14 Plus.
At the same time, it would seem that the design of the iPhone SE 4, with a front completely occupied by the screen, would look similar increase in costs and therefore in selling prices
All compelling reasons, but they leave the basis of users of the smallest iPhones in the catalog with few options. The easiest is to consider an iPhone 12 mini or go straight to a larger size with an iPhone 15 – which is not yet launched – or successive generations.
And it seems that the market trend towards larger iPhones is becoming more pronounced. And not just bigger, but with more capabilities and options. Something we see in the commercial advantage of the iPhone 14 Pro Max over the iPhone 14 Plus, still according to estimates and without official figures.
Although the question of what will become of the smaller iPhone is still present, remember that for now we are talking about rumors and information without official support. It is true that Kuo’s sources within the industry allow him a high success rate, but it is also true that Apple’s plans could, as Kuo tells us, change again. On the contrary, everything seems to point to larger and more efficient phones. We will see how events unfold.
