Rumors of new products in October have been growing stronger in recent months. After highlighting the Apple Watch and iPhone during the September keynote, October would be the month of the iPad and the Mac. However, Gurman speculated that Apple doesn’t have enough content or products to hold a new special event. So, The October novelties could be announced by press release and not by keynote.
We ran out of Apple’s October keynote
The mechanics of presenting products through press releases is not new. A few years ago, Apple used to announce new products for a week through press releases. Apparently, this dynamic would be justified by the lack of products or content to show in a face-to-face keynote.
This rationale might make sense given the products we will apparently have between us in October:
- Mac mini M2 and M2 Pro
- 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro M2 Pro and M2 Max
- 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro M2

If we really realize that the main novelty of each of the products is the arrival of the M2 chip in all its models to some devices that we already know and whose redesigns are not expected. This is why Mark Gurman, the well-known Bloomberg analyst, has speculated that these products will not emerge through a face-to-face event but rather through press releases.
Although the presentation may seem cold, we really know the current design of the Mac mini, MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. If there are no design changes, there will be no content to display in the event. In the same way, at WDCC22, details of the new M2 chips have already been presented in detail so a repetitive speech wouldn’t make sense either.
Do you think we will have a keynote or that Apple will choose the press release as a vehicle to introduce new products this time around?
