If you are a fan of Apple Music, love lists and love reading short presentations about the great records of all time, your new favorite book has arrived. If you have $450 to spend, sure.
Apple Music has announced its partnership with luxury bookmaker Assouline to turn its Top 100 albums list into a beautiful ornate book. Although priced almost as high as a new iPad mini, you probably want to make sure a cup of coffee never comes close.
According to Assouline’s description: “Each book comes in a custom-designed translucent acrylic slipcase engraved with the Apple Music logo, while the linen hardcover is engraved with the same logo to align perfectly behind the engraving.” The case back is engraved with the edition number and inside the book is a hand-numbered bookplate to further emphasize the limited nature of this release. The edges of the book’s pages are gilded a sparkling gold that reflects the title on the spine.
Bad Bunny’s album Un Verano Sin Ti is ranked 76th on Apple’s list.

Inside all of this is Apple Music’s controversial Top 100 Albums list, released earlier this year. The top 10, which was the subject of much debate at the start of the release, includes the following records:
1. Lauryn Hill – The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
2. Michael Jackson – Thriller
3. The Beatles — Abbey Road
4. Prince and the Revolution – Purple Rain
5. Frank Ocean – Blonde
6. Stevie Wonder – Songs in the Key of Life
7. Kendrick Lamar – good boy, mAAd city
8. Amy Winehouse – Back to Black
9. Nirvana – Whatever
10. Beyoncé — Lemonade
Apple says the list was “curated with the help of artists and experts, it’s a modern love letter to the records that shaped the world we live and listen to today.” Each entry includes a photo of the album cover as well as “Apple Music’s beloved liner notes, an in-depth analysis that brilliantly captures the album’s importance, both to the artists and to the art of music itself. There’s also a foreword from Apple Music 1 DJ and creative director Zane Lowe.
