Apple launched in 2016 the Bloc Musical application (Music Memos in English) an application for musicians to record your compositions quickly and comfortably from your own iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. However, this app has its numbered days as stated by the company itself.
Music Memos app will no longer be available on the App Store as of March 1, 2021However, it will continue to work without any issues. If you have downloaded the app in the past, you can continue to download it from your purchase history.
The reason? According to Apple, this application no longer makes sense with the Voice Notes application natively available on iOS. This announcement is made just as Apple updated the app by adding the option to export recordings done through this app directly to the Voice Notes app.
On the support page where Apple made this announcement, it reads:
The Music Memos app will not be updated after version 1.0.7 of Music Memos and you will not be able to download it after March 1, 2021. If you have an iPhone with iOS 14 or an iPad with iPadOS 14, you can continue to use Music Memos. And if you’ve already downloaded the app, you can continue to access it from your App Store’s purchase history. But you should export your Music Notes recordings to your voice notes library to make sure you keep all your recordings.
Once all the recordings available through the Musical Pad app have been exported, These will appear in the Musical Notepad folder in the Voice Notes application.
Unless you are not using the additional functions for musicians offered by the Musical Bloc application this change will not be a problem. But, if not, you can alternatives in the App Store.
