If you think phone calls are boring, we have good news (or bad news, depending on your opinion): the Google Phone app will let you react with emojis during calls, which include sound effects. In other words, if you tap the poop emoji, a fart will be heard.
This new feature, discovered months ago in the application code, has already started to reach the first users and will be available to all users in the coming weeks. Phone calls won’t be the same, for better or worse.
React with emojis like in stories, but in phone calls
Phone calls are no longer people’s preferred way of communicating; This is what apps like WhatsApp and social networks are for. However, we often prefer to make a call, request a medical appointment, do a work consultation or for more formal purposes.
And there’s nothing more formal than using laughter, applause or fart sound effects during a call, right? All joking aside, the Google Phone app’s new feature lets you do just that: react using emojis with sound effects, which They only play for a few seconds when we use them, and fortunately it seems that they cannot be used very frequently: you have to wait a while before you can react with an emoji again in the same call.
Once available to the user, the “Audio Emoji” feature can be activated directly from the Google Phone app settings menu. Currently, only six reactions are available:
- Applause
- Laugh
- Party
- Sadness
- Gambling
- Drum roll (for humor)
Emojis with sound effects cannot be used very often, you have to wait before using another reaction
When you perform one of these reactions, the application not only plays the corresponding sound effect, but also displays an animation on the screen according to the Emoji Audioincluding colorful hands clapping for Applause’s reaction, balloons for Fiesta’s reaction and chocolate ice cream falling to the ground for Poop’s reaction.
Audio emojis are now available to beta users of the Google Phone app and are expected to reach all users of the app in its final version in the coming weeks. These reactions can definitely be fun during calls, as long as you don’t overdo it.
