Beats has announced a special collaboration with Unión, the clothing brand that turns 30 this year with a special edition of Studio Buds, the new wireless headphones that the company recently launched on the market.
This limited edition features a “bold red, black and green design taking inspiration from the Pan-African flag and rendering tribute to Union’s roots as a business owned by people of color“.
In addition to the three colors that make up the Pan-African flag, the charging case also has indicates the name of the company, Union, yellow in color. The earphone silicone pads are green while the tactile surface, with which we can interact with the earphones, is red.
Union founders Chris and Beth Gibbs say:
Music is the lifeblood of our store, so when Beats contacted us we were excited to be working with them on these Buds. Collaboration is almost as important as the music. It’s great to have worked with Beats on this project and to have collaborated with Vince Staples, an old friend from the store, to bring our vision to life.
A few months ago, Apple launched a special edition of the Apple Watch dubbed Black Unity, a special edition that celebrated Black History Month and featured the colors of the Pan-African flag on the strap and dial, a dial downloadable without having to purchase this model.
This new limited edition is available at Union stores in Los Angeles and Tokyo in addition via its website for the same price as the Studio Buds in the Apple Store: $ 149.99.
