Although it is still mid-January, WhatsApp continues to progress in future features. Already in the first week of this 2023 they have implemented the possibility of connecting a proxy from the application, which will help many users to avoid the geoblocks that certain territories have on WhatsApp.
Now, as revealed in WaBetaInfo, they are working on a small change that will mean much faster the process of blocking a contact without having to enter the chat. Something very useful, especially when dealing with quickly identified spam.
Block from the chat panel and even from notifications
If there is a classic among the classics, it is the number blocking function in WhatsApp, having this possibility even if we do not have the number saved in the contacts. Now, there will be two shortcuts to block them without having to enter chats.
It was first in the Android app beta 2.23.2.4 where the ability to block a contact from the chat list by selecting it. This option is in addition to the other options already introduced in the application, such as adding a shortcut to the conversation, displaying the contact, marking the conversation as unread or selecting all chats.

Already in beta 2.23.2.5, the most recent, the possibility of block contact from message notification. In the image that shows WABetaInfo, we can see how the reply, block and silence option appears in the notification window.
It’s not that these changes are going to be revolutionary, that’s true, but we’ve already mentioned earlier that it’s ultimately about continuing to streamline processes and run the app faster in any situation. In any case, it can be said that, unless otherwise stated, the classic block option will remain (the one inside the cats).
Although these changes have not been officially released in the stable version of WhatsApp, it is expected that in future updates it will be available for everyone being already prepared in the betas of the Android application. It will therefore only be a matter of waiting.
