The problem is that some users saw how the navigation app disappeared from Android Auto after updating to version 7.2 earlier this year.
Specifically, two users reported that their mobiles (an S20 and an S21 Ultra) did not display Google Maps when plugged into the car. Restarting the phone or re-pairing Android Auto to their smartphone did not fix the problem, so they contacted Samsung.
They wrote to the manufacturer and he replied that the fault was not in the mobiles, but in Android Auto. Thus, it is now Google who has the ball in his court, having to update the system of the car to correct this flaw.

Apparently the problem starts with updating Samsung mobiles to Android 12, but it doesn’t seem to be a mobile problem.
