Huami is little known in Europe, although the same does not happen with products for which the Chinese manufacturer is responsible. We know very well the Mi Band bracelets that it manufactures for Xiaomi, also the Amazfit watches that it sells under its own brand, and also the recent Zepp which is gradually gaining ground.
Now, the Chinese firm has decided to take a step forward and approach the international market with a new name. Taking advantage of the recent launches of his new Zepp line, Huami decided to adopt them (and not from Amazfit) as his new name for the rest of the world. Huami is now called Zepp Health.
Amazfit and Zepp, under Zepp Health
Zepp Health explains in its statement that “As an industry leader in smart health technologies, Zepp Health is embracing the company’s new direction to focus on using technology to measure biometrics and make practical recommendations to improve clinical health outcomes“.
With this change, the company’s two brands, Amazfit and Zepp, will be under Zepp Health’s new umbrella, although we don’t know if the Amazfit will change its name at some point so that its entire catalog is unified. The Amazfit models are quite well known on the circuit of clothing So it will be interesting to see what decision they make from Zepp Health.
In principle, Amazfit and Zepp will keep their sites in the Zepp Health catalog.
The new Zepp Health points out in its statement that it has achieved agreements with different sectors of medicine and insurance in recent years, such as Prudential Corporation Asia or Promaxo, in order to continue to increase its revenues. The company intends to position itself as a benchmark in the global industrial health technologies market.
In closing its statement, Zepp Health indicates that a new corporate website will be launched throughout this 2021 and that it a new visual identity will be presented. Perhaps then we will know the fate of Amazfit products, perhaps with a redesigned logo or perhaps absorbed by Zepp models, now with the name of the company itself.
