In Android Pie, Google began to limit the methods used by call recording apps, which today limp as much as they can after suffering the occasional additional setback. The only way to record calls acceptably, in good quality, and without root is when the function is integrated into the mobile. And it’s coming to more phones than we think, but there’s a reason it doesn’t show up despite its presence.
Google and Samsung phone dialers both have native call recorder which works great, but they are only active in certain countries. Here, we tell you which countries Samsung’s and Google’s calling feature is available in, and how each of them is.
Where you can save with Google Phone
Most Android mobiles use the Google Phone app as a phone dialer, and those where it’s not normally available can be downloaded from Google Play, although if it’s not pre-installed you won’t be able to save the calls. This dialer has lots of cool extra features like spam blocker, caller ID and yes too. native call recording
Do you use the Google Phone app and never saw it could be recorded? This is not uncommon, as the app completely hides that it can record calls if you use it in certain countries, both during a call and in its settings. Call recording in the Google Phone app requires Android 9 or higher, an updated version of the app, and that you are in one of these countries or regions:

This is Google Phone call recording
Are you in one of these regions and does Google Dialer come pre-installed on your mobile? In this case, you should be able to record calls very easily, from the dialer itself. Backup option appears as one of the contextual buttons during a call. Note that if there are a lot of buttons, it can go to the second screen.
The first time you try to record a call, the app reminds you that it will inform the caller that you are recording the callAnd he doesn’t do it in a particularly subtle way. When you press the button, a voice announcement indicates that the call has started to be recorded and will be heard by the other person. When the recording stops, another phrase is heard.
Call recording can be activated manually or, in some cases, from the settings, in the Call recording section, you can activate it. all calls are automatically recorded. However, these sett ings seem to be active only in certain regions.
Where can you record calls on a Samsung
Do you have a Samsung mobile which therefore does not come with the Google Phone app pre-installed, but with Samsung’s own dialer? The good news is that also has a call recorder and the bad news is that, again, it’s only active in certain regions.
Samsung’s call recording is available in a much more limited list of countries and regions than Google’s and the vast majority of which are Asian countries. These are the countries where it is available:
Bangladesh Egypt India Indonesia Israel |
Laos Libya Nepal Sri Lanka Thailand |
Tunisia Ukraine Vietnam |
This is Samsung call recording
Samsung’s native call recording is very similar to Google’s, integrating as one more button in the keyboard context when a call started. After pressing Grabarthe recording begins without further explanation and, what is more interesting, without any indication, sound or speech being made.
Samsung’s call recorder shows very clearly that it records both from the call itself and from the notification, indicating the recording time and the classic registration callsign.
In the settings you can also activate the automatic recording of all calls, being able to differentiate the registration of all, of certain numbers or of certain specific telephone numbers. You can also choose, if you have a Micro SD, if the recording will be saved on the internal memory or on the memory card.
