The new chatGPT feature allows you to read aloud, read, pause or rewind reading!
Those who have the ChatGPT application on their iPhone have seen first-hand everything that the famous chatbot based on Artificial Intelligence is capable of answering us. There are even those who dared to consider it as a substitute for Siri. The previous one is not such a crazy idea considering that from today ChatGPT reads the responses aloud, just like the famous Apple assistant.
Even if since the end of 2023 there was a shortcut which offered the possibility of configuring ChatGPT by voice, this week OpenAI announced native Read Aloud functionality for the official ChatGPT app for iPhone and iPad, with which we can achieve the same result, avoiding a number of previous steps.
“Read aloud” is the new ChatGPT feature
As OpenAI shared on its X account, The feature allows you to read aloud, play, pause or rewind reading. The feature, which is also available in the web version of ChatGPT, adds another layer of voice interaction and builds on existing voice chat functionality, allowing users to speak to the chatbot instead of typing.
ChatGPT can now read your responses.

Read loudly offers answers in 37 languages and can automatically detect the language of the text you are reading. Regarding expectations, OpenAI says the feature should improve accessibility for users with visual impairments or reading difficulties, such as dyslexia.
In the future, OpenAI hopes Read Aloud will improve engagement by personalizing interaction support language learning.
The launch of chatGPT marked the start of the race for dominance of artificial intelligence-based applications in the years to come. Likewise, it exposed the shortcomings of other companies, an aspect in which Apple has not done well, at least in principle.
In 2023, internal criticism also led to an internal review of Apple’s work in this regard, with a focus on Siri. However, the pressure seems to have yielded results and it is expected that in 2024 those with the bitten apple will show new features thanks to the integration of AI in iOS 18.
