One of the lost Android battles for the tablet market. Although the smartphone market has been able to stand up to Apple and be otherwise at the same level, on tablets it does not finish as expected.
Years ago, Google stopped betting on tablets, and despite the boom in graphic folders, smartphones managed to become tablets, it gave hope that Google would bet again in the industry, completely overwhelmed by the new Chrome OS features.
The new version of the Chrome OS tablet is definitely ending with Android
One of the advantages that touch systems have over traditional computers is that they can interact with the system through physical gestures. Google introduced touch-based navigation on Android 10 and now it's the Chrome OS opportunity in what they've called the new tablet mode.
There are 4 main touch modes added by G major to its computer-focused system:
The first is the classic swipe to go home screen, such as the iPhone, iPad and Android 10.
If we move from below to hold the finger, we will walk to the main menu.
And following comparisons with the iPad, as in the Apple tablet, the booth will appear as we move from the bottom a bit.
When we move from the left edge of the screen we will perform a backward action. It can be on a web page or an app exit.
Does it make sense to wait for Android tablets?
The fact is that Android's definition of tablets is absurd considering the current state of Chrome OS in relation to Android:
- Update support: Chrome OS devices are automatically renewed and their support is greater than what Android provides, sometimes up to 8 years.
- We have the full Chrome browser with its extensions.
- We support Android apps and Google Store. It still needs to be upgraded to offer the traditional Android standard, but it's on its way.
- New tablet mode means you have nothing to desire for tablets.
With all these improvements, Google may be working on a new tablet, but that instead of Android is replacing Chrome OS. A tablet like the Pixel Slate but with better and cheaper availability it can be a good alternative.
