When it comes to iPad keyboard covers, there is a lot to choose from. Although in general they all share the same design, or at least they start from the same concept, they have some important differences that make them unique. Today we will devote an article to the Logitech Combo Touch, a benchmark in keyboard covers for our iPad.
Sleek, well-thought-out design and excellent materials and finishes
The design, colors and materials of a keyboard cover are fundamental when choosing one or another model or manufacturer. In the case of the Combo Touch, it is sold in two colors, on the one hand the color that we see in the photos of this article and on the other hand a slightly lighter variant. The material itself has a certain texture, which integrates with the color pattern that we observe and offers a layered touch without ever becoming sticky or slippery.
In terms of durability, I have tested this case without too much consideration on various surfaces and fabric. shows no signs of wear
Dual functionality: iPad case and separate keyboard
The Combo Touch has a key aspect in functionality that sets it apart from many other boxes on the market. The first and most important thing to keep in mind is that the keypad can be detached from the housing with a simple pull. Thanks to a system of magnets, the part of the case that goes over the iPad and the keyboard itself are easily joined and separated. So easily, I have to say, that at one point, taking only the top part of the set, the keyboard fell to the table.
While the case’s weight is considerable overall, being able to separate the keyboard from the rest of the iPad means that depending on the needs of the moment, Don’t End Up Carrying More Weight Than Needed.
Another important point in terms of functionality is the possibility of placing the iPad elevated from the table. Unlike other cases, this necessary functionality is provided by the part of the case that goes with the iPad, which means that one can place the iPad like this, for example to watch a movie, even if we don’t have the keyboard with us
Finally, there is the issue of double coverage, so to speak. If we usually carry our iPad with a cover, with the Combo Touch, we cover two needs in one package
One of the quietest and most comfortable keyboards I have ever tried
Having seen the general aspects, let’s devote a section to the keyboard itself, which is the main element. The first thing I have to say is that it is one of the quietest keyboards I have ever tried, something that we will certainly appreciate in many circumstances. Another key point is the movement of the keys, very similar to that offered by Apple’s Magic Keyboard, to offer a comparison. After days of writing articles on this keyboard, I can say that the comfort is maximum, the keys are smooth, and the movement of the keys is enough to enjoy long typing sessions without fatigue.
Another key point is action keys that appear above the number line. These are keys that are not common in many keyboards, but that in this one they allow us to increase and decrease the brightness of the screen, that of the keyboard, to adjust the volume, to move forward, to go back and pause playback, invoke Spotlight and Suite. At the far right of this row, a button allows you to lock the iPad with a simple touch, while at the far left, there is a Home button, ideal for returning to the main screen without resorting to any gesture. .
Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case for 11-inch iPad Pro (1st, 2nd, 3rd Generation – 2018, 2020, 2021), Detachable Backlit Keyboard, Touchpad, Smart Connector, Spanish QWERTY Layout – Gray
Finally, we must mention the inverted T arrow keys, which many prefer, and of course the individual key backlighting, ideal for writing in low light. All accompanied by a spacious trackpad with very good sensitivity and a very pleasant “click”. An unforced click in any area of the plugin that always responds quickly.
Overall I have to say this is one of the best iPad keyboard cases I have tried. Personally, I prefer the system that allows me to separate the iPad without having to keep a case on it, although that will undoubtedly be a plus for many others. In any case, I can say that at Logitech they have surpassed in quality and design, a keyboard cover that clearly surprises no matter what we read about it.
