Cloning Android Apps
The first version of Android 14 has already reached the developers and although there are still several months before it reaches our mobile phones, this version allows us to discover some of the new features that it will have.

Android 14 should be an evolution of Android 13, so there won’t be huge differences in terms of operation or design; but we expect several interesting news that can help us a lot on a daily basis.
Clone apps, the new Android
For example, the new feature you discovered 9to5Google It is one of those useful things, especially for some users who use the same mobile for work and for their personal life. This is the possibility of “cloning” the applications that we have installed.
A “cloned” application is essentially a copy of the same original application, which functions exactly the same way but independently; in other words, we can have two versions of the same application, each with its own data.
This is particularly useful for using two different accounts at the same time; for example, a business account and a private account. Each copy of the application may use a different account, access different files and personal data. Some apps already allow you to switch accounts in their menus, but not all of them, so this feature is appreciated.
New function to clone apps in Android 14
In fact, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen something similar. Samsung phones with One UI already have a similar feature, called Dual Messenger because it’s mainly used for having multiple accounts in instant messaging apps; Android 14’s clone feature will work with almost any app, but obviously it will make more sense in apps like WhatsApp.
Not all apps will support this feature. Google has decided block the cloning of several of your applicationslike Chrome, YouTube, and Gmail, as well as default Android apps like Messages, Phone, and Play Store. Therefore, we will not be able to use this feature to have two different versions of the App Store, at least not for now.
