Despite its huge screen size, the Apple Watch Series 10 is not compatible with these two watch faces
One of the most notable new features of the new Apple Watch Series 10 is its new design that incorporates a larger screen. The large model now measures 46 mm and integrates a 1.96-inch screen, the largest seen on an Apple Watchwith a screen area of 1,220 mm². The Apple Watch Ultra measures approximately 1.92 inches, with a screen area of 1,185 mm².
However, despite having a larger screen than the Apple Watch Ultra, Some watch faces are not available on Apple Watch Series 10but yes in the two Ultra models presented so far. Although the new watch faces of the Series 10, Reflections and Flux, have reached the rest of the models with watchOS 11.
Two watch faces that aren’t on the Apple Watch Series 10
The Apple Watch Ultra incorporated for the first time a giant screen allowing exclusive spheres full of information. These spheres are Ultra modular and Guide or Wayfinderwhich have always remained exclusively in the Ultra model due to their size. Here’s how Apple itself describes them:
- Modular Ultra– This dial offers seven complications and six options for time size and layout. A large complication in the middle of the dial makes it easy to see important information, like compass heading or the current stopwatch. You can choose whether you want to display real-time depth or elevation data, or the seconds of a minute on the outer edges (the bezel).
- Guide– The Guide or Wayfinder watch face is specially designed for the large Apple Watch Ultra display and includes a compass on the watch face and space for up to eight complications.
The advantage of these spheres is that they allow you to have up to 8 different complications and additional information, more than any other watch face available on Apple Watch. Something that makes sense given the large screen size available. However, despite having a larger screen, the Apple Watch Series 10 doesn’t have access to these two watch faces.
Even though it is true that They have a design very inspired by the Apple Watch UltraA little less refined than the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple could perhaps have modified them slightly to adapt them to the design of its new watch. But for now, the Apple Watch Series 10 arrives without exclusive dials, only the new ones available in watchOS 11.
It is possible that The next Apple Watch Ultra will get biggerknowing that now the Apple Watch Series 10 has slightly surpassed it. Even if we risk having a watch that is too big, the Apple Watch Ultra is already quite imposing and is not suitable for users with a small wrist.
We’ll see if in future software updates Apple changes its mind and brings these watch faces to the Apple Watch Series 10. For space, this will not be the case.since we now have a giant screen.
