Apple yesterday unveiled the best apps of the year for each of its platforms. But this price is not only symbolic, this year, Apple will present a trophy or physical award to each of the 15 developers, and this trophy is something completely unique.
If you’re an Apple fan, know that the company has a new product, but you won’t be able to buy it. There are only 15 rewards like this, one for each team of developers of the 15 best apps of the year. Although perhaps in Apple Park there are hidden ones.
This new ‘product’ is a precision-engineered and polished piece of aluminum, handcrafted by the Apple design team who transformed the App Store icon into a real world icon.
“To pay tribute to these 15 apps, Apple designers have worked hard to create the first physical prize awarded to the winners of the Best of the App Store of this 2020. The prize, inspired by the blue icon of the App Store, includes a logo engraved in 100% recycled aluminum on one side, with each recipient’s name on the other side“.
A unique and exclusive Apple product
For the time being no photos or many details of this award were disclosed made from the same aluminum as that of the iPhone, iPad or Mac. But Jeremy Kaplan, from Digital trends, seems to have seen it.
The first thing he reveals is that it’s a artisanal product, but it seems to be mass-produced like an iPhone because the degree of precision and perfection is very high. But also, delivered in its own box with a pouch, like any Apple device.
The trophy bears on one side the iconic “A” of the App Store and on the other hand, something that was not seen by anyone outside of the design team and the winners themselves, wears a laurel wreath. Kaplan also reveals that the award-winning developers received the award on Monday.

Phil Schiller also spoke about the trophy, revealing that for Apple, it’s a sign of the appreciation they feel towards their developer community:
“We are delighted to present the first physical Best of 2020 App Store award to these winning developers, it’s a beautiful article that recognizes their incredible work and our deep appreciation.”
There are only 15 of these awards in the world, without a doubt This is Apple’s most exclusive product yet. We don’t know if a developer will show it in public or in a photo at some point, but so far very few have been able to see it.
