After renewing a good part of the Mac range at WWDC, the next devices to update are now the iPhone and the iPad. The iPhone 15 is on course for September, but the iPads have more doubts. Sources contradict each other, but there are even rumors pointing to the arrival of the 14-inch iPad Pro.
This makes sense alongside the evolution of iPadOS, whose interface is more and more suitable for someone who wants to use this iPad as a laptop. Now all of a sudden we came across a device that followed the same path
Same screens, different approaches
It is clear that we live in the era of large screens. iPhone 14 Plus, that bigger MacBook Air… it would make sense to see a big-diagonal iPad now that pros can run Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro on it. Now, if we already have a 15-inch MacBook Air… does an iPad Pro of that size make sense? Wouldn’t it be cannibalized by this Mac?
We should see the differences between the specifications of this iPad Pro and those of the MacBook Air. The concentration between the general public and the professional public is noticeable
But beyond these specifications we have a screen size that will be repeated in two different products but with a price that could be similar. And it is possible that more than one user will say the classic “why buy an iPad Pro if for the same price I have a complete 15-inch laptop”.
The final verdict will be made by our own purchases: it will depend on the reaction of the market to see if one device is more successful than another and if Apple prefers to prioritize it. For now I really appreciate that Cupertino finally agreed to make more screen sizes for their products. This is something that has been in high demand, especially in the case of non-business laptops. The more choices, the better.
