Perhaps in an attempt to make us forget that Twitter is going to kill bots and apps for his latest change, Elon Musk has announced what will probably be the most well-received change in his history at the head of the social network: he will pay users.

No, you are not confused. Elon Musk will open the coffers of the company to pay the creators of tweets directly, even if there is a “trap” and you’ll have to pay Musk first to receive the money. Yes, that sounds a little sketchy, but it makes sense.
Earning money on Twitter will be possible
Through a tweet, Musk announced that tweet creators will be able to receive part of the revenue generated by advertising. Specifically, the amount they will receive will depend on ad impressions in response to our original tweet.
Therefore, the more successful our tweet is and the more replies it receives, the more money we have of winning. Every time someone enters the tweet and scrolls down to see the replies, an ad impression will be generated and a percentage, which has not been made public, will go to our account.
Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their reply feeds

While that sounds great, it’s an announcement that raises more questions than it answers. For example, we don’t know what percentage of revenue will go to users, or how they will be able to collect it, or how they will be able to find out how many impressions their tweet ads are generating. Come on, we don’t know anything, strange thing when Musk claims that this function will be available today
What Musk said very clearly is that in order to receive the money, you will first have to pay it. And will the function be available only for users verified with Twitter Blue; therefore, you will have to provide your identity and pay the 11 dollars per month that it asks to obtain the famous blue mark in our name.
Long story short, like nearly every news Musk has announced since he’s been in charge of Twitter, there’s a lot of fine print, and it’s going to be how it’s applied. If you earn less than 11 dollars per month with these ads, it will only really be worth it for the most famous users of the social network, while for the rest it will only be used to fill Musk’s (necessary) coffers.
