Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has just left a bomb on his Twitter. The executive wanted to have a meeting with Tim Cook to offers to sell Tesla to Apple, at a time when the development of the Model 3 presented many difficulties. This surely speaks of the period between 2017 and 2019.
The sale price was to be a tenth of Tesla’s current valuation, which would currently be around $ 60.6 billion. Tim Cook declined to hold this meetingAlthough Musk is not sure if the CEO of Apple took notice of what was to come.
Apple and Tesla, nearly a decade of trial and error
During the darker days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla (for 1/10 of our current value). He refused to participate in the meeting.

This isn’t the first time Apple’s clues have appeared buying Tesla: two years ago we learned that it was Apple who proposed the purchase in 2013. And at that point, Apple was going to pay more than Tesla cost at the time. Apple and Tesla have therefore had potential buying approaches for seven years.
This week we already have several sources indicating that Apple is still immersed in creating its own car using new generation batteries, or at least an autonomous driving platform. There are those who predict it for 2024, but there are those who even believe that we will see it in less than ten months.
