The countdown has begun for the big Apple event in September. The company never hints at what will be announced, but it will almost certainly announce the iPhone 14 and new Apple Watches (including a new Pro model and the Apple Watch SE 2).
But that may not be all. What else are those of Cupertino preparing for the event Far? Below, we list the products Apple is expected to launch in the future and predict whether or not we’ll see them on September 7.
Airpods Pro 2
Of all the Apple products on the way, the most likely to make an appearance at the September event is the new AirPods Pro (along with iPhones and Apple Watches, of course).
Rumors have been swirling around for a long time, but the second-generation AirPods Pro should finally arrive this fall. And it seems like a good idea to announce them with the new iPhones.
In fact, it is rumored that they will be compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and LE Audio. No current iPhone is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2, so it would make sense for the iPhone 14 to be and be used to advertise both products at the same time.
The new AirPods Pro are also expected to have a refined design, better sound quality, better noise cancellation, and possibly some new features as well. aptitude.
Apple TV 4K
Other rumors suggest that a new Apple TV will arrive in the second half of this year. We don’t know much about what it will be, except that it should have an “improved cost structure”. It’s a nice way of saying it will cost Apple less to manufacture and maybe it will be cheaper.
If he ends up arriving in 2022, he could appear at any time. Unless there’s a really big design and feature change coming (it looks like there won’t be), your announcement could sneak into the September or October event. Maybe they post it straight to the web without too much hype.
iPad 10th generation
One of the most exciting products to arrive this year (or so rumors have it) is the 10th generation iPad. The new iPad would take as a reference the design of the iPad Air, thus breaking definitively with the old design.
New Tablet It would arrive with a 10.5″ display, Touch ID on the side button and flat edges. Rumors also say that it will use a USB-C port and it will be compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil.
Unfortunately, we don’t think it will be featured at the September event. Apple has officially delayed iPadOS 16 (the first release will be iPadOS 16.1), so it might not arrive until October in an event coinciding with the release of iPadOS 16.1.
iPad Pro with M2
Now that the M2 chip is out (it arrived with the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro), it’s time to update M1-chip iPads with the new M2 processor.
iPad Pros with M2s could also get wireless charging, but rumors of the 14-inch or 15-inch iPad probably won’t arrive until next year. The iPad Pro with M2 will arrive at Apple’s October event alongside the 10th generation iPad.
Mac mini with M2
Another product with the M1 chip that is about to receive the M2 chip is the Mac mini. Some say it will be the same Mac mini we have today, but with the new M2 chip. Others say a design with a new two-tone case is in the works.
It likely won’t be announced at the September event. Mainstream Macs usually show up at another event later on, so it’s likely to arrive in October (if at all).
Mac Pro
The latest product to make the transition to Apple’s processor is the Mac Pro. Apple said the transition would take two years and, well, the time is almost up. Does that mean we’ll see the Mac Pro this year?
There are opinions on everything. It’s hard to imagine an “M2 Extreme” on a Mac when you don’t yet have a MacBook Pro or Mac Studios with M2 Max or M2 Ultra. And with Mac Studio working so well, there doesn’t seem to be any rush to come up with something even more powerful.
Even though Apple is giving us a sneak peek of the new Mac Pro, which is slated for release in 2023, we suspect that will happen later this year and not at the September event.
iMacPro
Now that we’re on the subject of Macs, it’s worth mentioning that Apple is expected to release a larger Apple Silicon-based iMac at some point.
Some call it the iMac Pro, which is said to have an Apple chip (a high-end M2 processor) and a new design, similar to the iMac with M1. The screen would be larger (about 27 inches) and possibly include a ProMotion or miniLED backlight.
But none of this is ready yet, and there are even doubts about the arrival of the product. We don’t think it’s coming in 2022, or even 2023, so don’t expect it to launch at next September’s event.
HomePod with display
Google has its Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max; Amazon has the Echo Show devices; but Apple doesn’t have smart home devices with screens.
We’ve been hearing rumors for a while about a possible HomePod with a display (some are calling it “HomePod with an iPad connected”). The most recent rumors say it’s expected in late 2022 or early 2023.
If he does indeed arrive at the end of 2022, it could be during the September event. However, it seems that a presentation with more weight would be necessary and is not in the shadow of the news. Our guess is that it won’t arrive until 2023, if at all.
AR/VR Glasses
We know that Apple is working on a headset or augmented reality glasses. The latest rumors say the first model will be expensive, high-end and limited in production for developers, followed by something fancier and more affordable for the mass market a year later.
Some even say the device will arrive in January 2023, and we know Apple likes to announce major new products months in advance. There’s no reason not to think it’ll come at the end of the iPhone event or the October event, but it’s much more likely to have its own event.
