There are many rumors and leaks that we have seen about the Samsung Galaxy S22 in recent weeks, but now the official presentation is approaching, which is confirmed by the president of Samsung himself. Among the three models to be announced, one will stand out from the others. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is called to be the most complete and innovative Galaxy S for many years. The S Pen is back in force

Last year, some were angry with Samsung for not introducing a new Note. the company’s stylus had reached a level of refinement that made it really interesting, and the fact that the note included it in the body made it practical for everyday use.

This is exactly what failed in the integration of the S Pen with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra or with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Both models had to have a bulky case to store the pencil, something that will not be necessary in the Samsung Galaxy S22 ultra.

A more industrial design

When Samsung presents a new family, the specifications are of course different, but the design is generally very similar. In this case, it is not.

The Galaxy S22 and S22+ will be almost identical to last year’s models, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra changes the rounded lines for a more square and minimalist design, in line with what we saw in the Note.

Even the camera module is hidden and it seems that it will no longer be a defining element.

Top notch features

How could it be otherwise, the specifications suggest that it will be an ultra high-end terminal.

There will be two versions based on RAM, with 12 and 16 GB, and four regarding internal storage: 128, 256 and 512 GB. There is also talk of a version with 1 TB of internal memory, although it is not not marketed in all countries.

The screen will be 6.8 inches with QHD+ resolution and Dynamic AMOLED technology with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, HDR10+ compatibility and a maximum brightness of 1500 nits.

It will be the family that will launch the new Exynos 2200, at least in the European and African markets, since in the rest of the planet this model will carry the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The battery is said to be 5,000mAh, with 45W fast charging, although we wouldn’t expect the charger to be included in the retail box. Nothing was said about wireless charging, but the normal thing is that it has 15W power and 10W reverse wireless charging.

Betting on computational photography

As for the cameras, there won’t be a noticeable jump in resolution or sensors, and it looks like the changes relate to how photos are processed. The president of Samsung has already hinted that night photography will benefit greatly.

All of this comes with a price. Literally. It looks like the base model of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will increase in cost, at least in the US, to $1,299. We don’t know how this will affect Europe, but we will almost certainly see a similar increase.
