Discover the channels used by nearby Wi-Fi networks
After you open WiFi Analyzer and grant the necessary permissions to use it, the first thing you’ll see in the app is a series of colorful wave graphs. These graphs show superimposed the Wi-Fi networks to which your mobile has access and the channels on which they operate.
At first the information may be difficult to interpret, but the concept is simple: on the horizontal axis you have the channels and on the vertical axis the signal strength in dBm (decibel-milliwatt). The higher the intensity, the better. The fewer networks that use the same channel, the better, because this way there will be no interference between them.
The application displays graphs of all networks, whether you are connected to them or not. So you need to find your Wi-Fi network and see if you share channels with other networks In the neighborhood. If so, it’s a good idea to change the channel of the connection. The app allows you to switch between 2.4G and 5G mode, with the button at the top.
If this is all still too technical for you, WiFi Analyzer has an easier way to look at the same thing. By tapping the eye icon and choosing Channel Scoreyou can choose your Wi-Fi network from the drop-down list, then you’ll see a list with all available channels and a star rating next to each.
The idea is simple: the higher the score of a channelit is more recommended to use it on your Wi-Fi connection. In the screenshot above, for example, the best available channel is channel 14.
Check Wi-Fi strength
Similarly, with the time graph mode, it does not show you the channels, but the progression of signal intensity over a timeline which is updated periodically (you can change the update frequency in the settings).
The idea here is not to compare the channels, but to see how the signal strength varies while, for example, we move around the house to find where the signal reaches best Wi-Fi connection. The app displays all visible Wi-Fi networks, although you can tap one to highlight it.
Again, the app gives you an easier way to do the same thing: with the view of the signal meter. Instead of having timeouts, you see a signal strength indicator of the network you choose.
The application itself tells you if the dBm value is good or bad with a color code: green is good, yellow is good and gray is bad. Again, the idea is to walk around the house to check signal coverage.
Get information about each Wi-Fi network

Share results with others
If you want to share the data with another person, you can do it with the menu Sendwith which you can send XML file with the data and save them in applications such as Google Drive or share them with others in applications such as WhatsApp or Telegram.
Other utilities
Additionally, WiFi Analyzer includes two small tools extra in the Tools menu. The first is YES lookupwith which you can enter a MAC address to get the organization’s unique identifier, which indicates which company it belongs to.
The second tool is LAN neighbors, which should show devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network similar to Fing, although it doesn’t seem to work today. After all, the app hasn’t been updated for three years.
