Features, price and technical sheet of the Tecno Phantom V Fold

Tecno has been heating up the Mobile World Congress 2023 for a few days with the announcement of a new foldable mobile and, finally, we already have all the details and Tecno Phantom V Fold 5G features.

It is a mobile that comes to fight face to face with terminals such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, OPPO Find N2 or Honor Magic Vs. If we look at the specifications, it is quite an interesting mobile.

Exterior with two very large screens and interior with Dimensity 9000+

If you thought the Fold was a big, heavy mobile, wait until you have this Phantom V Fold in your hands. weighs 299 grams and it has become one of the heaviest mobiles recently launched (if we don’t count those with huge batteries or the robust ones).

It has a height of 159.4 millimeters and a thickness that increases from 6.9 millimeters unfolded to 14.5 mm unfolded. It’s not small, wow, but its screens aren’t small either.

The exterior has a diagonal of 6.42 inches. It has a resolution of 2550 x 1080 pixels, so we have a stretched aspect ratio, and it has Gorilla Glass Victus, 120Hz refresh, LTPO technology and AMOLED panel.

The interior is no exception. It’s AMOLED -obviously- and it also has a maximum LTPO refresh rate of 120Hz. The diagonal is 7.95 inchesit has a resolution of 2,296 x 2,000 pixels and brightness is a maximum of 1,100 nits in both.

In this case we do not have protection against water, something that remains exclusive to Samsung foldables. But hey, if we go inside, the heart is the Dimensity 9000+. It is a SoC built on 4 nanometer lithography and features one core at 3.2 GHz, three at 2.85 GHz and four low-power at 1.8 GHz.

It is accompanied by 12 GB of memory and has configurations of 256 or 512 GB of storage with the UFS 3.1 standard. The battery is one of the interesting points. This is usually the Achilles heel of folding, but little by little we see mobiles of this style with larger capacity batteries.

Same as the foldable Honor we have here a 5000 mAh battery. It has 45W fast charging, but no reverse or wireless charging. and the software is Android 13 with HiOS 13 Fold capability.

As for the cameras, it seems to be served with 50-megapixel f/1.9 main sensor, 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a 2x and a wide angle of 13 megapixels and 120 degrees. On the front, it has a 32-megapixel camera, and on the inner screen, another 16-megapixel camera.

If this new foldable mobile has made you start looking at your wallet, don’t go so fast because, for now, it will be launched in India. The price will be around 1,030 dollars to change and will arrive in black and white colors.

But hey who knows maybe there is hope because as they point out in GSM Arena the launch will be “India first” so if all goes well we might end by seeing it in other territories, but this is pure speculation.
