Sleek design with eye-catching camera module
Xiaomi is launching a design with many changes in the new Redmi Note 10 range. The main differential point is the camera module. This one is located in the upper left corner and has a rectangular shape with very rounded corners. The novelty is that the different lenses are placed at different heights and with a somewhat irregular arrangement: the larger main above, the macro and depth sensor just below and finally the angular lens.
Since we are talking about cameras, this is the main claim of the Redmi Note 10S over the normal Note 10. Here we have a 64 megapixel main sensor, while his brother ends up with 48 megapixels. The angle remains at 8 megapixels and the macro sensor and the depth sensor have a resolution of 2 megapixels.
Continuing the design, Xiaomi opts for a shape with curved edges on the back and a completely flat screen. The front stands out for its very good use, with the rear camera located on a centered island and very tight edges (although the bottom or “chin” is wider than the rest). Other design details: The fingerprint reader is located on the side of the device and is splash resistant (IP53 certification).
For the screen, there is an important generational leap and that is that the Redmi Note 10S abandons the LCD screen to make way for an AMOLED screen. We are talking about a large panel, in particular 6.43 inches and FullHD + resolution. Of course, while it makes the leap to this tech, it doesn’t with the refresh rate remaining at 60Hz.
Mediatek’s heart and battery for a while
The other key difference between this and the Redmi Note 10 is the processor, which in this case is a Mediatek Helio G95. According to Xiaomi, it is 31% faster than the previous model which carried a Snapdragon 720G. Yes here no 5G support.
Regarding the memory versions, the base model has 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Just above we have a version with 128 GB and finally one with 8 GB of RAM and also 128 GB. All of them have UFS 2.2 storage and are expandable with MicroSD.
Jumbo batteries have become standard in the Redmi lineup and the Redmi Note 10S is no exception. We have 5000mAh capacity and 33W fast charge. In addition, Xiaomi reminds us that it brings a charger compatible with the maximum power supported by the terminal.
