Preliminary step: your contact must share their location
If you have an appointment with a contact and you want Google Maps to notify you when they leave or arrive at a specific location, then you must ask them to share their real-time location with you. For this, your contact must go to Google Mapstap on their profile picture and tap shared location. In the new window, you will have to touch “Share location” again and in the new view, select the time you want to share your location and with whom. After clicking “Share”, you will see its location on your mobile.

Now that a contact is sharing their location with you, you need to click on your profile bookmark which will appear on your map. In the lower menu that will appear after touching your image, you must go to the section “Notices” and click on ‘To add’
There you can select if you want receive notifications on each arrival and/or each departure from a specific location. You can choose the location where your contact is currently located, your current location or select another location on the map. Once you have selected a location, all you have to do is press save and Google Maps notifies you with notifications whenever you arrive or leave said location.
This way, you’ll be able to know when a friend has already left home or work to meet you, or when they’ve already arrived at that meeting point without having to text them where they’re going.
