Presto solves a common iPhone problem without even touching it!
The Apple Store always has attractions, beyond the devices, which invite us to get lost there. And luckily, for tech fans and the company’s customers, it’s a cycle that doesn’t stop. Thus, the new attraction of physical stores in the United States is “Presto”, a machine that updates the iPhone in its sealed box to the latest version of iOS wirelessly.
Starting this week, employees and customers at several Apple stores in the United States began testing “Presto.” As Mark Gurman described a few months ago in his “Power On” column, it’s a pad-shaped device. The real image verified that the software update process can be done with six iPhones at the same time.

To ensure that the boxes are placed correctly, there are NFC markings depending on their size. Once placed correctly, The iPhone will be updated in 15-30 minutes. iGen has now shared an image from a video showing two of the machines stacked on top of each other, which we share below
Presto was developed by Apple’s Backstage Operations team, which designs tools for technicians and retail store employees. The idea aimed to solve the problem of selling iPhones in retail stores with outdated software and thus save customers from having to update their device immediately after taking it out of the box.
Last year, The iPhone 15 series came with iOS 17, but Apple later released iOS 17.0.1 before the devices were released. The update was necessary to resolve an issue that prevented data transfer directly from another iPhone during the initial setup process.
According to a MacRumors article,For now, “Presto” will arrive in all Apple Stores in the United States before summer. While stores in other countries have also received information on its use.
