Apple has just over two months left to celebrate one of the most special events of the year. And September is usually one of the most anticipated days for the arrival of new iPhones and Apple Watches. This year, we will have to see the iPhone 16 series and the Apple Watch X (or Apple Watch Series 10, pending confirmation of the name).
It is not yet known for sure if we will also see an Apple Watch Ultra 3, given that the tenth edition of the normal range will be the protagonist of a historical increase in size. And we rate it this way because, according to the leaks, it will be the first to bring a new design idea. Moreover, there are already renders that prove it.
New screen, new features and the big question as always
Since their first presentation in 2014, and with the exception of the Ultra seen in the last two years, Apple Watches have always been very similar in terms of design. Two sizes and an identical form factor which, yes, has reduced its frames to have an increasingly larger screen.
The most notable changes came in the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 6, and Series 7, which expanded their screens by taking advantage of a front size previously occupied by bezels. In the case of the next Apple Watch Series a considerable increase in the size of the file. Specifically, they would upgrade to versions of 45 and 49 millimeters.
The Apple Watch X’s larger display would even surpass the current Apple Watch Ultra
We would also meet the largest screen in history with 2 inches compared to 1.9 inches for the larger Apple Watch Series 9. Yes, it’s a change of just 0.1 inch, but in sizes as small as a watch, it’s a bigger change that notable. It would even be larger than the Apple Watch Ultra and the Apple Watch Ultra 2, whose panel remains at 1.93 inches.
Yes, for the rest The design will not differ too much from what has been seen previously. Curved edges for the sides and a more square screen format. There won’t even be an additional side button added, which remains exclusive to the “Ultra” range. All of this can be seen in the renders published by 91Mobiles.
The big question that remains is one we always ask ourselves when there is a size change in the Apple Watch. Will they be compatible with bracelets from previous generations? So far it has always been like this, since the size of the watches themselves has not increased much. Now there will be more than notable changes and it is reasonable that this doubt appears. Unfortunately there is still no answer, although given the efforts that Apple has always made to ensure compatibility, it is clear that this year they will try to ensure that they are also compatible.
It will be in September when we finally dispel doubts and confirm other news regarding this special edition of the Apple Watch. It has been a decade since it was first introduced and today it is one of the bestsellers. Its focus on health and sport, accredited by watchOS 11 just a few weeks ago, attests that this generation will also try to bring news to these areas.
