Leaving aside the public war that we have been witnessing for years between the defenders of Android and those of iOS, each system has its outstanding functions (some hidden). In fact, they look more alike than they first appear, and even though they say otherwise, Android added a few features before iOS.
As an Android user and aware of the advantages of iPhone, some sections are necessary in my daily life, so it would be very difficult for me to switch from one system to another. I tell you my reasons and why iOS doesn’t have what I need for my mobile.
Duplicate apps
Although I’m not a big fan of mobile games, I got addicted to a free game more than once. Yes, one of those who end up asking for micropayments to keep moving forward. Precisely in these, the function of duplicate apps It’s native in layers like Xiaomi and OnePlus (coming soon to Android 14) is paramount.
Power use two different accounts at the same time This allows me to progress faster in certain games, making the difficulty curve more even. But I don’t just use dual apps for that: having two WhatsApp accounts on my mobile saves me having to add another device to my backpack.
And I only gave two examples, because This function offers us a thousand possibilities like using multiple social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc.), more than one banking app if we have multiple accounts, or testing new features without altering the original app.
Dual SIM, but for real
when we use two sim cards in one mobile we forgot to carry an extra device. It is a simple and effective solution, with great management on the part of the system. This brings us a series of advantages that we cannot reproduce on an iPhone. Yes, iOS supports Dual Sim but using an eSIM.
Being able to use the same mobile to make business calls, and at the same time having your personal number is a luxury. In addition, Android allows us to control them easily, selecting
Better multitasking and the ability to close apps with a single tap
Android multitasking allows us to keep multiple apps running in the background without losing what we do there. This increases productivity and makes things easier for developers. Unsurprisingly, iOS had some issues with features that required more permissive multitasking.
If, on the contrary, we want to eliminate all that is blurry, we have a button available (and other methods) to close all applications. He Control what happens on our mobile
Windows and split screen
It took a while to get to Android stockbut it is one of the functions that users benefit from the most: the possibility of having two apps on screen simultaneously. Like the previous section, this one also promotes productivity, making the task of moving text from one application to another very easy.
In the same way, with the increase in the size of the screens with which our Android phones are equipped, using the split screen function allows us, for example, to browse the Internet and watch a video at the same time. It’s not something we use all the time, but occasionally is to be grateful.
Unlimited customization
Here we could make blood, but we won’t do too much either. Customization of Android is endless: you can change the launcher, modify the icons, change the font, the size of the interface, the order of quick settings, and many other aspects. The last thing we thought of was changing the name of the operator, which it keeps getting curious.
It is true that depending on the manufacturer there is more or less freedom, but many of the sections mentioned are common to all brands. We could also name dozens of launchers that give a touch of freshness to our mobile, among which Nova Launcher stands out.
Icon packs continue to take up significant space for many users, as simple as change icons This will make the system look like another. And they come in different shapes, colors and styles. There is an interesting application where we can apply themes created by other users.
Bonus title: freedom to manage folders and files
Before finishing, I remembered one thing that Android allows us to do freely: manage the internal memory of our devices, including folders and files. As with the other functions we looked at, there are plenty of options for managing our files. We can see hidden files and folders in the system, copy and paste any item, rename them and organize memory as we wish.
Moreover, the clean Google makes it easy for us with its file manager par excellence: Google Files. It is able to unzip files, hide them in your secure folder, and even send or receive files wirelessly.
Fortunately, Android and iOS compete and feed each other. Meanwhile, users have freedom of choice.
It is certain that, at least for me, Android is the ideal operating system for its freedom and the possibilities it offers to operate our device as we need it at all times. I agree that iOS is also a great platform and works like a charm, but I have an Android heart and these are some of the reasons.
