A few months ago we heard rumors of Apple TV updates and issues that could bring it to the hardware level. We talked about faster processors and about the neural chip, talked about RAM and more storage, but beyond the process of updating the elements I want to raise the list of developments which, in my view, I suggest for the new Apple TV.
Wi-Fi 6 support
We've seen the arrival of this new standard on the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, so it's expected to reach other devices gradually. On Apple TV Wi-Fi 6 can let you work better in areas with multiple radio professionals by turning it back on a very reliable HomeKit control device. It would improve both the number of devices we could connect to the network at the same time and that, since Wi-Fi 6 also works on the 2.4GHz network, the areas of the house where accessories could be disconnected would be minimal.
Apple brand games controller
Although after the advent of PS4 and Xbox One controls, Apple's game controller may have been significantly reduced, still possible. The standard design in which all Apple Arcade games will be changed from the buttons and game controls, can be a way to make Apple Arcade famous. We saw two types of Apple TV sales, the "standard" pack with the TV and the Siri Remote (which would also be used for occasional playback) and the "gamer" pack with the TV, Siri Remote and the game controller. The introduction of the game controller with the purchase of the Apple TV will let video game producers see that it's not being talked about gaming-backed television, if not a console where you can watch television. Small difference but important.
The new Siri Remote
Although I've heard some very unified comments with Siri Remote the fact that I'm pretty happy with the way it works, still suggests a few changes. The first one is in the Remote touch area itself, I'd like to see it The animation is very similar to the Mac trackpad
Another change is related to wireless charging. The Siri Remote, for now, is the only Apple device that does not support wireless charging, a feature I already expect to set for the new generation of Remote.
Better integration with Siri
To me the key would be that the Apple TV will function as a Siri-level HomePod. I understand the difference in the distribution of a product from one product to another but at least one limitation. Holding the Siri Remote button to talk is like a step back when all Apple devices support "Hey Siri." At least it would look great to me to download the future of Siri Remote a few times a week to switch to full Siri support or to see the advent of the Apple TV interface between the TV and HomePod.
On the software side the situation is the same, there it is so many requests that Siri answered that she couldn't help you With this from TV, some understand them, but include a reminder? An app like HomePod, and more now that Apple TV has users, could create more use that we can offer Siri on Apple TV.
Conclusion
For me the Apple TV is it the perfect thing for my living room, from the development that Apple is introducing to tvOS and the integration of services such as Apple Arcade, Apple Music or Apple TV +.
Many of the changes, however, have gone hand in hand with the software while Hardware has remained without major changes. We will definitely see a resurgence in this and, if you ask me, These are changes I would recommend.
