Apple has just extended the Apple TV + free trial until next November. This means that if you got a free subscription in November 2019, you can continue to use the service for free until July 2021.
When Apple launched Apple TV + in November 2019, its service diffusion which include original series and movies, began offering a free year of trial to anyone who bought a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple TV.
At the time, there wasn’t a lot of content, but Apple certainly thought it would have a lot more offers to tempt subscribers when those free trials ended in November 2020.
In November 2019, no one could have predicted the impact COVID would have on Apple’s production plans. Due to the pandemic, many productions had to be stopped and the second seasons had to be postponed.
In view of the situation, Apple extended the free subscription period in October. At the time, the company was giving away an additional three months for those who took advantage of the trial, going from a one-year free trial to a 15-month free trial.
At the same time, he’s made sure that those who decide to subscribe to the service don’t feel ignored, so Apple has returned $ 4.99 per month to their Apple account.
This extended the trial period until February 2021, which, you may have noticed, is just around the corner. So, it’s no surprise that Apple has decided to announce that it is extending the free trial again.
Now, the trial period will last until July 2021, which is six more months. In this way, the trial period which started in November 2019 will last a total of 21 months.
As has happened before, those who already pay for an Apple TV + subscription will receive a refund from Apple. Additionally, subscribers who pay for Apple TV + as part of Apple One will also be reimbursed.
How will you know if your trial period has been extended?
We have a trial period for Apple TV + that is slated to expire on January 8, and as of yet, we haven’t been told it will be extended. However, if your test expires between now and next June, it will be extended until July, or at least that’s how they assure it in 9to5Mac.
It is possible that when the trial period expires, these users will receive this extension. However, if you subscribe now, we believe you will only receive the advertised free year, not the 21 months that first-time subscribers get.
Some of the best shows on Apple TV + will feature a new season soon. But while Apple wants to blame COVID for the lack of content, the truth is that platforms like Netflix, Disney, and Amazon Prime haven’t had any issues.
