We open the beautiful white box, lift the lid and voila, our new iPhone is displayed before us in all its glory. We take it out of the box, look at it upside down and inside out, and definitely savor the moment. Then we turn it on, yes, and for the first time since the initial surprise, we take a look at how to set it up.
Fortunately, at Apple they put the very very simple setup process. Thanks to this, we can enjoy our new iPhone in 10 or 15 minutes. And besides, most of the system is completely automatic. Let’s see this in detail.
Enjoying our iPhone with all the information on it in minutes
The first thing we need to do is make a backup of our old iPhone. We can do it directly in iCloud (even if we don’t have space on it) or through our Mac In the first case, we just have to open the application settingstap our name at the top, tap iCloud then in Copy to iCloud. If not, we activate Back up this iPhone and click on perform now.
If we choose use your Mac or Windows PC with the iTunes application installed to make the backup, just connect the iPhone to the computer, if requested trust the computer then open iTunes or Finder. After touching the iPhone in the left sidebar and then in Generalwe just touch Backup All iPhone Data to This Mac.
Clever. Now we can turn our attention to the new iPhone. We choose the language, location, we enter the password of the Wi-Fi network that we have at hand, and follow the on-screen steps. Important to enter our Apple ID and password. If we doubt our Apple ID, we can access our old iPhone, enter settings and perform on our behalf. The Apple ID is the email address that appears just below our name. Likewise, if we do not remember the password, we can touch password and security in this same section to modify it. If so, let’s write it down securely as soon as we edit it.
After logging in with our Apple account on the new iPhone, we will be asked how to restore the information. here we will choose to use a copy in iCloud or on a Mac or PC depending on what we have chosen before. If we use the second option, we can already connect the iPhone to our computer, if we choose the first, the system will take care of everything after choosing the most recent copy that we want to restore.
Configure other settings such as Face ID, Wallet app cards, display style, and other details, we’ll be done. We will see the home screen of our iPhone with several applications. All contact information, calendars, reminders, files, photos and also the third-party applications will already be transferred.
It is very likely that, depending on how much information we have transferred, there are still applications being downloaded or installed. Here the best thing is we leave our iPhone connected to the charger and wait quietly for the process to complete. To finish it is enough to reconnect to some applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, our bank and others similar.
With this we will have our new iPhone ready to use. And now, what do we do with the old one? Easy. We entered settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase content and settings and we leave it at the factory to deliver it to Apple in exchange for a gift voucher, resell it or give it away. Nothing more? Enjoy our new iPhone!
