Just yesterday, Samsung took to the brand’s official forums in Korea to confirm the upcoming arrival of One UI 6.1.1 and some of its details like Galaxy AI features. Samsung is now ready to include a new security mode in this update which extends auto-blocking features on Galaxy phones and tablets.
Auto-blocker is a feature that arrived in One UI 6.0 and adds extra security to protect your mobile possible issues that may arise from certain suspicious activities or potential privacy risks. It can be found in Settings and then in the Security & Privacy section.
With this feature enabled, One UI takes care of Implement five changes to protect users from malware: from blocking unauthorized apps and sources (like installing an APK file) to app security checks, blocking commands with the mobile connected to the PC and stopping USB updates via a USB cable.
With the upcoming deployment of One UI 6.1.1, the Korean manufacturer will greatly improve the auto blocker. First, authentication is required to use this protection mode, second, long presses disappear to disable certain protections like messaging, and finally, application security control is not mandatory under this mode to be part of the new protection mode.
The new maximum restriction level provides additional protection for users who need the utmost security on their Galaxy phones. The manufacturer warns that in this mode, some mobile functions will be restricted. The functions concerned are: activation of system administration applications, work profile, use of shared albums and sharing of photos with location data.
There are two additional restrictions when the new maximum level of protection is applied:
- One blocks the automatic downloading of attachments in messages, as would happen in Samsung’s SMS app.
- The second: block previews of images or web links.

The mobile phones that will receive it are the Galaxy S22, S23 and S24 series, the Galaxy S23 FE, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and 5 and the Galaxy Tab S8 and S9 tablets. The Galaxy S24 and the foldables launched last year will have the same in August; only those announced last week already have One UI 6.1.1 as standard.
