When cell phones were used for calling or texting, the use of a PIN code to protect access was rare. It was with the arrival of smartphones, which took place in Europe at the beginning of this century, that we started to want more privacy.
Samsung updates its Bixby assistant with a new design
Bixby, the assistant of Samsung phones, gets a new design in its update, with a cleaner and easier to use appearance.
This led to the use of the PIN code in iOS and the unlock pattern in Android, although in this system we could also use a password or a PIN code. Then came the fingerprint sensors and face unlock.
Samsung, for its part, was even having fun with iris scanning as a way to secure our phones, although it put that idea aside a few years ago. Now he returns with another who is just as special at best.
Bixby will be able to unlock the mobile with the voice
The first details of One UI 3.1, the version of the Samsung interface that will be implemented as standard in the Galaxy S21, are starting to circulate in the test versions, and Sammobile has had access to the information about it.
Specifically, there is a new feature of Bixby, the Samsung Assistant, which would allow the mobile to be unlocked by a voice command. It’s handy when we want to unlock it without using our hands, but we don’t think of a lot of scenarios in which this is relevant.
Also, there is an additional risk, and that is that we don’t know how Samsung would prevent the mobile from being unlocked if someone was done with a recording of our voice saying the unlock order.
It will be necessary to wait until the first half of 2021 to confirm whether Samsung is finally launching with this function and whether it integrates them into the Galaxy S21.
