An even better Galaxy S23 series for photos
Samsung does not beat around the bush when it comes to implementing new features in its mobile phones, even this series has received Galaxy Enhance-X to take advantage of the full potential of the new 200 Mpx lens that its models incorporate.
But when it comes to using portrait mode, the Galaxy S23 missing a way more precise which uses a more practical optical zoom for this type of photos, the 2x. This is precisely where the shots are going for the next update of this series which will resume this portrait mode as its great novelty.
Currently each of the three models that make up the Galaxy S23 series, the one that next year will consist of only two phones, has a mode 1x and 3x portraitwhich is switchable between the main camera and the dedicated 3x unit with a 10MP sensor equivalent to a 70mm focal length.
So far good, but 2x zoom in portrait mode fits perfectly for the photos in which we take the subjects with the most open framing. This new feature of the Korean flagships, as revealed by the development team in the Samsung Korea community forums (and via GSMArena), will use the main camera with digital zoom as well as input from computational photography .
That is, Samsung will use the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen chip 2 to give that 2x portrait photography brilliant results and complete a photo experience that will leave these phones almost ready for the fast approaching summer.
As far as we know, this update will arrive first on the Galaxy S23 series so that right after, without specifying a specific date, it will land on the Galaxy S22 series and the same foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4. An important addition to elevate the quality of photography of the Korean brand’s most important Galaxy flagships.
