The smartphone market is still going strong. Mobile phone sales have picked up and brands are doing their best to convince users to take the plunge; especially in the higher ranges. The launch of the new Pixel 9 shows that even the most well-known designs have to change to attract attention.
Samsung could be the next manufacturer to make a change to its phones to make them more attractive, after rumors about the iPhone 16 and especially the iPhone 17 indicate that Apple is preparing its own revolution. Now, a leaked image by @UniverseIce in X and a leak published by Yogesh Brar reveal small and big changes to Samsung’s most advanced model.
We’re talking about the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is expected to be presented along with the rest of the Galaxy S25 range next January after bringing forward the launch of the Galaxy S24 range to better compete with the Pixel and the iPhone. However, it is possible that it will not appear under this name, but rather is called Galaxy S25 Note.
It should be remembered that the Ultra model of the Galaxy S range is the successor to the Galaxy Note, which were abandoned by Samsung with the Galaxy Note 20. In practice, it is as if this mobile had never left, because the Ultra has inherited all its features, from the S Pen stylus to the design. Now, it is possible that the Note brand will return and bring a design change.
It should be noted that the image published on social networks is not a real photo, but a “mockup”, a computer-generated image of what the mobile phone could look like; therefore, there may be changes when presenting the device. However, the leak seems to highlight the biggest change that the mobile would receive: the new rounded corners
The design with straight corners helps differentiate this device from the rest of the models in the Galaxy S range; however, this does not please everyone and for some people it can be an uncomfortable detail that makes the mobile phone more difficult to grip or hang when you put it in your pocket.
If that’s your opinion, the new design should be a joy. The rounded edges should give rise to a more ergonomic mobile and most importantly, one that looks more like its “younger brothers” and doesn’t look like a stranger from another line. At the same time, it’s never good for a manufacturer to decide to remove a unique feature from one of its phones.
Whatever our opinion, at least this change should not affect the screen itself; the proportions and size of the screen would be identical to those of the current model, as can be seen in a comparison image. Where there may be differences is in the quality of the screen, since rumors point to the use of a Tandem OLED panela new technology that allows for greater brightness and energy efficiency. Tandem OLED was released on Apple’s iPad Pro, but as usual, Samsung is responsible for this innovation and would now reach its own devices.
