Game development is still crazy on Apple TV+

Apple, Crazy, development, game

The failure of ‘Blockbuster’ on Netflix corroborates this: it is difficult to have a comedy in its catalog of diffusion. And yet here’s Apple TV getting it with several examples, chaired by the great ‘Ted Lasso’. And those of us who love the world of video games, we also have the remarkable ‘Mythic Quest’.

Now, this series has released its third season preceded by bad news: the departure of one of its main characters and protagonist of some of the best episodes of the second season. And so far it has not been noticed too much.

apart but together

warning: from here I mention spoilers for the second and third season of the series. read at your own risk!

Season 3 begins with the team disbanding: the two top developers of “Mythic Quest” are thrown into another indie project that needs funding, while the rest of the team continues to work on the original game. The approach serves to give some variety to the series, with its characters taking different approaches. Recreating the same storyline that was in the first two seasons would already have been somewhat repetitive.

Aside from this change, the series proves that it is still a new source of humor. We haven’t reached the level of ‘Ted Lasso’, but the first two episodes of the third season They managed to make me laugh from time to time. And you don’t need to be an expert in game development: it’s still just part of a comedy that should have no problem liking mainstream audiences. Wildcard referencing Metaverse included.

'Mythic Quest': the essential Apple TV + comedy returns with a humorous season 3 a little less polished than usual

And as I said before, the loss of F. Murray Abraham represented no drop in quality in the series. The rest of the protagonists (especially the main two) they keep the level up and set a good continuation of the story. So yes, Mythic Quest is healthier than ever and poised to continue being one of Apple TV+ comedy’s mainstays. And for that, it still deserves my recommendation.
