If you haven’t heard, Apple announced that the Apple Watch Series 9 will no longer have a working blood oxygen sensor while its patent dispute with Masimo winds its way through the courts. Luckily, you can still get one and it’s on sale right now: Amazon is selling the 41mm Apple Watch Series 9 for $329 and the 45mm model for $359, a savings of $70 each and matches the lowest price we have seen.
Apple Watch Series 9 has the same 41mm and 45mm displays as Series 8 with two new features: a faster, smarter S9 chip with a new quad-core neural engine and the new double-tap gesture that lets you allows you to control applications without touching the screen. Otherwise, it has the same set of sensors (ECG, heart rate, temperature and aforementioned blood oxygen), as well as all-day battery life, 50 meter water resistance, SOS d emergency and collision detection.
Apple has announced a firmware change that will disable the blood oxygen sensor on new Apple Watches starting January 18. So they might be hard to find in a few weeks. So grab one at this historic low price while you still can.
