And even if we find ourselves in Europe without the Pixel Watch, this smartwatch has been able to put Google on the table of those who distribute the most wearables in the world. Canalys reported that Google is now the second best-selling wearables brand in Q4 2022.

Google takes the lead with the Pixel Watch
It should be mentioned, via Ars Technica, that Canalys introduces the Pixel Watch within the category “wearable bracelets” which includes basic smartwatches, watches and bracelets. With that in mind, we turn to Google’s market share figure for Q4 2022: 8%.
Of course, Dominatrix with apples this market with 27.5% of distributions and you should know that in this same quarter, Google, last year, was in fourth place. Another figure provided by the firm Canalys is that the Pixel Watch was one of the culprits in the smartwatch market growing by 16% worldwide.
Google owns Fitbit, which also contributes a large number to the total number of distributions of the big G that reaches 4 million wearables. Of that total, 880,000 Pixel Watches were distributed, or 22%, which isn’t bad at all for being their first smartwatch.
There is rather negative data for Google’s interests and it has to do with Fitbit, as this brand is not at its best. The total distributions of Google wearables at a general level were reduced by 25% year over yearso it looks like Google’s plan with Fitbit was just to swallow it to transfer its experience to the Mountain View guys’ upcoming watches.
And it is also that the rest of the brands present in this market do not show good results. Xiaomi itself, which was the second bestseller the previous year, fell by 46%. Huawei remains at 42% and Samsung in fifth place with a drop of 35%.
We must save an important point to understand the success that Google is having with its Pixel Watch, and that is that this smartwatch does not has been sold in 9 countries unlike the Apple Watch which is available in over 60 countries.
So we have a feeling that Google’s next goal will be to distribute its next Pixel Watch 2 in more countries so that even those numbers will increase next year. We will meet in these regions to find out if it will be like that and to certify it.
