With Google maps we can check our location history via ‘Your timeline, a section that allows us to see our trips made each day or to see the sites, cities and countries visited.

Well, this section has started to be renewed. Google Maps has started to activate a redesigned timeline which launches two new tabs to offer us more statistics on our routes.

Here is the new Google Maps timeline

‘Your timeline’ Google Maps changes from four tabs (Day, Places, Cities and World) to six tabs when adding new tabs ‘Statistics’ Yes “Travel”. We also see a new design for the “Day” tab which now makes editing easier, allowing you to now edit an entire day in an easier way.

The most important novelty of the renewed timeline is that now in the tab ‘Statistics’ we will have more data on how we move, showing the time we have walked, driven, used public transport, biked or aired every month, also showing graphic to compare for months.

The new statistics also allow us see the time we spent each month in restaurants, shops, attractions and hotelsAlso indicate which day of each month was the one on which we visited the most sites.

Finally, Google Maps also activates the “Travel” tab, which was officially announced in November 2020. There we will see the integration with Google trips with information from our past trips.
