Google Photos is an extremely useful platform not only for storing our images and videos, but also for being able to have them on all our devices thanks to cloud synchronization, provided we have the storage space available.
But sometimes, almost without us realizing it, our image and video library fills up not only with photos, but also with memes, unimportant images and lots of screenshots. Google Photos is working on new filters to solve this problem, hide less important images in our gallery.
Goodbye to memes and countless screenshots on the Google Photos home page
Google is working on a number of interesting changes to the Google Photos app interface, focusing on a new design for the Memories section and a new option for sorting the image library. These changes were discovered by AssembleDebugas reported by PiunikaWeb, when analyzing the source code of the Photos application in version 6.79.0.624777117.
The new option is called “Hide Clutter” (“Hide Clutter”, in Spanish), and its objective is filter and hide all screenshots, memes and GIFs. This option will be available among the Google Photos customization options and, once activated, these types of files and images will disappear from the main Photos window.
However, it will still be possible to view these images from their respective folders, available in the Google Photos library. The important change is that They will not be a hindrance in the main file.
The other big news that will come to Google Photos is a massive change in the Memories tab interfacewith a new layout that displays all image collections in uniform rectangles, instead of multiple confusing collages, choosing one image from each themed collection to serve as the image album preview.
These changes will be available in a future update to the Google Photos mobile app. Without a doubt, the option to hide screenshots and memes is a great addition to the appwhich in itself is very effective in automatically identifying these types of images.
Google recently announced important news for Photos, including the arrival of the Pixel Magic Eraser in the app, and soon we will also see the debut of a new option to save storage space on the platform.
