The phase of Google's Area 120 test project is demanding bring the land of gaming it's portable to millions of people around the world who use smaller and more powerful smartphones.
To do this, they have created Gamestacks, a new platform whose purpose it is to deliver light games, whose responsibilities almost always occur even if the Internet connection is not stable enough, in those regions where it is almost impossible to get high-quality articles, mainly because of the resources that require this type of videogames.
Logically, allowing users of devices that are weak or without high-speed Internet connection, games must be done well. In fact, the articles are loaded as simple HTML web page, and resources such as images, sounds or events are always compressed, and are not uploaded until needed.
GameStacks, Google's primary gaming platform
According to the company, many articles can be run on devices only 1 GB of RAM, and is designed to work with a connection of 1 Mbps or less. In addition, they work on both mobile devices and computers with the keyboard and mouse.
The current GameStacks catalog is highly developed regular genre games, easy to play again with easy controls. It's a case of titles like Tower, a game with minimalist graphics where all you need to do is touch the screen to create towers that attach tiles that are aligned on top of each other.
In a way, this approach is reminiscent of fast-paced games integrated into Facebook Messenger over the past few years. However, Google says that we will continue to work with some video game development companies to make better articles every time, and get them closer to as many people as possible around the world, whether it's the power of their smartphones or the speed of their Internet connection.
